
Kernels Announce 2010 Field Staff

Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, announce the 2010 field staff.
Returning for his second season as Kernels manager is Bill Mosiello, after guiding the Kernels to a 78-60 record and advancing to the second round of the MWL Playoffs in 2009. This is his second full season with the Angels and his sixth overall coaching in professional baseball.
Brandon Emanuel returns as the Kernels pitching coach. He was drafted by the Angels in the second round of the 1998 Free Agent Draft and posted a 7-12 record and 4.47 ERA in 23 starts for the Kernels that year with five complete games and struck out 88 batters in 153 IP. This is his third year coaching in professional baseball.
Brent Del Chiaro returns as the Kernels hitting coach. The Oakley, CA native was selected by the Angels in the 41st round of the 2001 Free Agent Draft and played for the Kernels in 2002, posting a.213 BA with nine RBI in 37 games. Previously, he was the hitting coach for the Orem Owlz and was the bullpen catcher for the Angels in 2007.
Dan Nichols returns for his third season as the Kernels athletic trainer and his fifth season overall with the Angels. He is a native of Reynolds, IL and holds a BA in athletic training from St. Ambrose University and an MS in exercise science from Middle Tennessee State University.
The Kernels open the ninth season in Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday, April 8 at 6:35 pm against the Beloit Snappers. Season tickets and 10-game anytime coupon books are on sale now at www.kernels.com, or in person at the stadium. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10 am.
