Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO - One of the greatest Arena Football League defenders in the history of the game has recently moved from the playing field to the front office. On Friday, the Orlando Predators officially named Kenny "The Glove" McEntyre its new director of player personnel.
McEntyre, the AFL's all-time leader in interceptions, retired following the 2011 season after spending 13 years in the league. He'll work alongside Orlando's new head coach Bret Munsey as the Preds piece together a championship-caliber roster for the upcoming season.
"He's been such a valuable contributor to this organization for so many years and is one of the all-time best to ever play this game," Munsey said. "He makes his home here in Orlando and it'll be a nice transition for him to continue to be involved in the game."
McEntyre has been busy evaluating film of potential prospects over the past month and will also be involved in team tryouts and organized workouts of players.
The Preds will announce open tryout dates, to take place during the early part of November or December, in the near future.
"As a player it's tough to walk away from the game," said McEntyre, who recorded 95 interceptions over the course of his career. "But it's nice to continue to be involved in some form or another with this organization. It makes you feel like you're still a part of something."
