DL Jarriett Buie Returns for 2012

TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm defensive lineman Jarriett Buie will return to the Storm for the 2012 season announced head coach Dave Ewart.
"We are looking for Jarriett to make an impact in 2012," said Ewart. "He showed some real flashes his rookie year that he can be a dominant player, as he continues to grow he will only get better."
Buie (6-foot-3, 250 lbs., South Florida) returns to the Storm for his second season. He finished third on the team with 6.5 sacks during his rookie season and was seventh in the AFL with 11 tackles for a loss. Buie's breakout game came against the Orlando Predators at home June 17 when he tied the franchise single-game sack record with 4.5 sacks and earned AFL Defensive Player of the Week.
He came on strong in the second half of the season as he had five consecutive games with a tackle for a loss. Buie started in 14 games before his season ended with an injury to his left leg. He finished the season with 21.5 tackles, 11 for a loss, 6.5 sacks, six pass breakups and a forced fumble.
"I really enjoy playing football for the Storm and in front of our fans," said the former Armwood H.S. (Seffner, FL) standout. "I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the front office and really like the direction they are headed. They are committed to making this a special place to play."
