Kelowna Split in Kitsap over Weekend

Bremerton, WA: Over the weekend the Kelowna Falcons split the first two games of their three game series with the Kitsap Bluejackets in Bremerton Washington. Losing Saturday night 8-7, and then blasting the Bluejackets on Sunday 12-5.

Saturday night the Falcons found themselves clinging to a one run lead with six outs to go in the eighth inning. However the Bluejackets would tie the game in the bottom of the inning, and then win it in the bottom of the ninth on a throwing error by Falcons catcher Caleb Barker.

The Falcons offense would outhit the Bluejackets 15-13, led by Kyle Moses who finished 3-4. Jace Conrad, Brock Slavin, Tucker Alexander and Patrick Johnson would also add a multi-hit game.

Preston Gray would suffer his second loss of the year.

On Sunday afternoon the Falcons would turn things around and swat the Bluejackets 12-5 for their first road win of the summer.

Starter Cale Coshow would throw seven innings and allow just three runs on six hits while striking out two for his second win of the season.

With the Falcons leading 7-5 heading into their ninth inning at bats, they would add some insurance runs after a grand slam by Kyle Moses. It's the Falcons first homerun of the year.

Greg Friesen also had a big night at the plate finishing 4-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Jace Conrad and Andrew Firth would also add two hits each, while Firth recorded three RBIs.

The Falcons (6-4) will play the rubber match with the Bluejackets (5-12) on Monday night at the Kitsap Fairgrounds before coming home to host divisional rival the Walla Walla Sweets on Tuesday night at Elks Stadium. Gates open at 5:30pm, first pitch at 6:30pm.
