National Conference Final

Alaska vs. Trenton – Trenton wins 4-3

Andrew Allen notched his second shutout in three games to propel the Trenton Titans past the Alaska Aces and into the Kelly Cup Final with a 2-0 victory in game seven of the National Conference Final Monday night in Anchorage.

Rick Kowalsky opened the scoring at the 2:54 mark of the first period, scoring off a rebound to put Trenton up 1-0. B.J. Abel then turned in a magnificent individual effort for a shorthanded goal at 10:16 of the opening frame, cutting behind the Alaska net and breaking free from two defenders in front before placing a shot over the shoulder of Aubry for a 2-0 advantage.

From there, Allen was unbeatable, including making a game high 12 saves in the second period. Even with Aubry on the bench late in the contest, Alaska could not find a way to beat the Titans' netminder. Allen's 29 saves secured the win and his second shutout of the playoffs and league-leading 10th win of the post-season. Aubry stopped 15 shots in taking the loss for Alaska.

Trenton will now meet Florida for the Kelly Cup starting later this week, with the Everblades owning home ice advantage for the series. The Augusta Lynx will send a full email schedule for the Kelly Cup Final on Wednesday, May 18th.
