Milwaukee Wave News Release

Milwaukee, WI (January 29, 2005) - Despite an uncharacteristic start, the Wave was able to get the results they wanted out of Sunday afternoon's game against the Baltimore Blast. The Wave was outscored in the first quarter for just the fourth time in 16 games this season, but they came back from a 2-1 first quarter deficit to win 11-5 and give Head Coach Keith Tozer his 600th career victory.

The Blast jumped on the Wave quickly as Adauto Neto had two unassisted goals within the first 1:33 of the game. It was just the third time this season that Milwaukee didn't score the game's first goal. After Neto's second goal there was about 13 minutes where the defenses held until Milwaukee took control of the game. Greg Howes scored at the end of the first quarter to cut the lead to one. That set the stage for the Wave's second quarter rally.

Todd Dusosky opened up the second quarter scoring and the goals kept coming. Five Wave players scored six goals in the second stanza. In addition to Dusosky, Eduardo Sebrango, Hewerton (two), Greg Howes and Matt Schmidt all scored for Milwaukee. Greg Howes opened the second half by completing his hat-trick at 0:36. Giuliano Celenza added a penalty kick goal for Baltimore, but Todd Dusosky and Johnny Torres quickly followed with goals for the Wave.

Baltimore outscored Milwaukee 2-1 in the fourth quarter, but Milwaukee's lone goal came from Todd Dusosky, who also had a hat-trick. Dusosky's was the third player to get his third goal in the game, Adauto Neto also tallied three scores. It was the second consecutive game in Milwaukee where three players had a hat-trick. Just like last Friday, Greg Howes and Dusosky both scored three for the Wave with the third hat-trick coming from their opponent. Last week's MISL Offensive Player of the Week, Greg Howes, has hat-tricks in the three of his last four games and he has fourteen points in those contests.

Milwaukee Wave Head Coach, Keith Tozer, already the winningest coach in North American indoor soccer history adds another milestone to his resume. He's the only coach to reach 500 wins and he adds another level to the record with 600 career wins. He has won four championships in seven championship series appearances with the Wave.

The Wave will face the Blast in Baltimore on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. It is Milwaukee's final contest before hosting the 2006 MISL All-Star Game Saturday, February 11 at 7:05 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Arena. After the All-Star Game, the next home game for the Wave Will be on Sunday, February 19 at 1:05 p.m. against the Chicago Storm.
