November 25, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Kebs de Laval News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) opens its international series of basketball games this Friday when the Quebec City Kebekwa (Kebs) travel to Singapore to meet the Beijing Aoshen Olympian. The two game series will be the first of 18 scheduled trips by ABA teams from the US and Canada. In addition to the Kebs, Tom Chichester, ABA VP of Officials, announced that three of his referees will also be making the trip and will be working with officials from Singapore, familiarizing them with the ABA game and its unique rules.
"We are working diligently on getting these games back to the US via satellite," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "We have everything in place - an agreement with CoLour TV as well as Asian KyLin TV. We are also working with Global Broadcasting. If we can get the satellite feed, people all over the world will be able to see these exciting games. And from our understanding, the interest in Singapore is enormous. We are very excited." For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
