Waza Flo News Release

(Detroit, MI) The Detroit WAZA Flo took on the Kansas Magic at its home turf Saturday evening. This game marked the second meeting between the two teams this season and proved to be every bit as impassioned and controversial as you'd expect from true rivals. And when the final whistle blew, the Detroit WAZA left the arena with a 10-7 victory, thanks to a joint hat tricks from Dominic Scicluna and Ryan Mack.

"Our team responded well tonight," said head-coach Dominic Scicluna. "We stepped it up and are right where we want to be right now. I'm real proud of our guys. "

Detroit's Ryan Mack started the scoring two minutes into the match with Dominic Scicluna, Stefan St. Louis and, again Ryan Mack, finding net to end the quarter with WAZA up 4-0. Kansas came back with two goals less than two minutes into the second to bring the score to 4-2. But Detroit responded well to finish the quarter 6-2 with an amazing header by Dominic Scicluna, assisted by Aaron Byrd, and a goal by Costea Decu.

The third quarter brought tension and excitement to the WAZA fans when the Magic pushed the score margin to within one point less than 10 minutes into the quarter. With the score now 6-5, WAZA was pushing hard against their rivals and were able to find net once more. But, the Magic answered right back and was able to end the quarter 7-6.

By the start of the fourth quarter, WAZA had, again, found their focus and their positive energy was renewed. Ryan Mack, Dominic Scicluna and Costea Decu struck pay dirt adding to the score to make it 10-6. With less than 3 minutes to go, Kansas' Chaz O'Dell scored but it was too little, too late with Detroit WAZA winning its fourth match in a row 12-7.

The WAZA FLO will play the Louisville Lightening this Sunday, January 15th, at the Taylor Sportsplex, 2:35 kick-off.
