
Kangas Shuts the Door on Danbury NA3 Gen's Win 1-0

(Attleboro, Mass.) - While the NAHL Generals were making their home debut for the new season the already 5-0 NA3HL Generals were getting back to work on the Secondary Rink with an East Division matchup against the Danbury Hat Tricks. Ian Kangas worked the shutout on one end while Matthew Nuzzolilo provided the lone goal on the other in the 1-0 win.
With the win the Generals improve to 6-0 on the season while Danbury falls to 1-2 this year. Both losses at the hands of Northeast.
The only goal of the game came at the 14:17 mark of the first period. Braeden Kennedy won a defensive zone faceoff to Cody Lambert on the left side of the Generals zone. Nuzzolilo immediately took off to the neutral zone where Lambert hit him with a pass. Showing off his speed Nuzzolilo made his way past the defense and in on a breakaway. Choosing to make a move he pump faked a shot with his leg and moved the puck to his backhand before sliding the puck into the empty net.
While goals were hard to come by the paths to the penalty boxes were worn out for both teams with a combined 45 penalty minutes on 18 infractions during the game.
Kangas (4-0) stays perfect in the early part of the season with the shutout win while Danbury's Ryan Maguire (1-2) suffers the single goal loss.
The Generals will hit the road for a two game weekend series in Long Beach against the Sharks. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena.
