Week in Review:
Thursday, February 7th, 2013 vs. Everett Silvertips - 6-0 Win
The Blazers had contributions up and down their line-up in a 6-0 home ice win over the Everett Silvertips. Cole Ully led the way with two goals and an assist. JC Lipon had a goal and an assist, while Colin Smith and Brendan Ranford each had two assists. Marek Hrbas, Tyler Hansen and Dylan Willick were the other Blazer goal scorers. Cole Cheveldave had the shutout with 20 saves in goal.
Saturday, February 9th, 2013 vs. Red Deer Rebels - 5-3 Win
JC Lipon and Brendan Ranford combined for seven points in a 5-3 home ice win. Lipon had two goals and two helpers, while Ranford finished with a goal and two assists. Chase Souto and Marek Hrbas were the other Blazer goal scorers. Cole Cheveldave had the win in goal with a solid outing making 24 saves for the win.
Colin Smith Named WHL and CHL Player of the Week
For the third time this season Blazers' forward Colin Smith was named the WHL Player of the Week. Smith was also named CHL Player of the Week after a stellar on ice performance from January 28 - February 2. Smith had 10 points in four games including a five-point outing in a 7-4 win over the Spokane Chiefs.
Jordan DePape Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Night
The Kamloops Blazers are welcoming back 20-year-old Jordan DePape for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Night this Friday, February 15th. DePape will be in attendance for a ceremonial puck drop. He will also be signing commemorative posters that will be given away to the first 2000 fans through the front doors.
Earlier in the day, DePape will be speaking to 100+ children about Type 1 diabetes who will attend the game that night.
Blazers Clinch a Playoff Spot
With a 6-0 win over the Everett Silvertips on Thursday, February 7th, the Blazers punched their ticket to the 2013 WHL Playoffs with a month to go in the regular season.
The Blazers currently sit seven points behind the Kelowna Rockets for first place in the B.C. Division. These two teams will meet five times over the final 15 games in the regular season. This includes this weekend's home-and-home series with the Rockets starting in Kamloops on Friday, February 15th.
Kamloops Blazers Hockey School August 2013
The 2013 Kamloops Blazers Hockey School is now open for registration! Hockey School will be held from August 12th - 16th with the Blazers coaching staff, current and former players instructing.

Smith, Bozon and Lipon all reach Career Highs
It has been a terrific year for many players that have already achieved new career high totals. Colin Smith leads the way with 36 goals, 52 assists and 88 points playing in all 57 games this season. Smith has eclipsed his career high in goals and points set last year with 35 goals and 85 points. Smith also is the Blazers iron man playing in 249 consecutive games. He currently sits third in WHL scoring and is looking to become the first Blazer to eclipse 100 points since Erik Christensen in 2002-03.
Tim Bozon and JC Lipon are also enjoying career years. Bozon has 73 points which eclipses last year's total of 71. Lipon has 30 goals and 76 points which surpasses his previous career highs of 19 goals and 65 points set last season.
Others who have reached career highs in points this season include Chase Souto, Cole Ully, Sam Grist, Kale Kessy, and Landon Cross.
Blazers Ranked 10th in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10
The Blazers back in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 with a 37-15-2-3 record. The Blazers have been honourable mentions the last two weeks. The hockey club has been in the rankings for most of the season.
Chyzowski Named BCMML Player of the Month
Kamloops Blazers' prospect Nick Chyzowski has been named B.C. Major Midget League's Player of the Month for January. The 15-year-old, who plays for the local Thompson Blazers, had eight goals and three assists for 11 points in eight games during January. He also recently participated in the BCMML All-Star game in Langley.
Bowl for Kids' Sake
The Blazers are participating in the Bowl for Kids' Sake event sponsored by Canadian Western Bank and benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kamloops & Region. Pledges will be taken at the Blazers Corner Store from Thursday, February 7th-Thursday, February 21st. Pledges will also be taken at Save On Foods on Monday, February 18th from 5:00pm-6:30pm.
