K-Wings to Battle the Danbury Trashers in the Colonial Cup Finals Starting This Friday

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce their "Destination: Colonial Cup" will continue this weekend, as they play the Danbury Trashers in Games One and Two of the Colonial Cup Finals.

The K-Wings punched their ticket to the Colonial Cup Finals after sweeping the Motor City Mechanics in the First Round and the Rockford IceHogs in the Colonial Cup Semi-Finals. Kalamazoo wrapped up their series with Rockford with a 3-1 victory last Wednesday in Game Four.

Danbury earned their way to the Finals by defeating the Quad City Mallards in the First Round and the Muskegon Fury in the Semi-Finals. Danbury wrapped their series with Muskegon last night in a dramatic 7-6 triple-overtime victory in Game Six.

Kalamazoo and Danbury will begin the finals this Friday, May 19th, with Game One at Wings Stadium. Game Two of the series will be played this Saturday, May 20th, also at Wings Stadium. Face-off for both games is set for 7:30 p.m.

All fans that attend Friday's night Game One will receive a FREE Rally Towel courtesy of Kalsee Credit Union and Mark Maurer Mortgage Consultant.

Both the K-Wing and the Trashers will be making their first-ever appearance in the Colonial Cup Finals. Kalamazoo is in search of their first championship since the 1979-80 season, when they won their second straight Turner Cup Championship by defeating the Fort Wayne Komets.

Fans that want to watch all the K-Wings road games against Danbury, can come to the Icehouse Bar and Grille, located in the upper level of The Annex.

K-Wing fans can also listen to the Colonial Cup Finals from the opening face-off to the final buzzer on the K-Wings Radio Network (WLKM 95.9 FM, WQSN 1660 AM) with "The Voice of the K-Wings" Mike Modugno. Coverage starts 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Digital Highway Pre-Game Show.

Tickets for the UHL Colonial Cup Finals are available now at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. -6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets over the phone by calling (269) 345-5101 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.

Fans can get into the Colonial Cup Final mood by listening to the K-Wings on a variety of morning shows this week.
