The Kinston Indians swept a double header from Wilmington on Tuesday night, winning their sixth and seventh games in a row to tie a season high seven game win streak. Kinston won 7-5 in game one and 3-1 in game two to take the double dip sweep. Kinston is now four games ahead of second place Salem in the Carolina League Southern Division, with 12 games left to play in the first half of the season.

Kinston shot out to a 7-0 lead in the first game, using a five run fifth to set the pace. Kinston batted around in the fifth inning, with RBI from Chris De La Cruz, Max Ramirez, John Drennen and Josh Rodriguez. Drennen and Mike Butia each had three hits in game one. Frank Herrmann (4-1) picked up his fourth win of the season, scattering four earned runs through five innings. Kyle Collins picked up the save, striking out Wilmington's Miguel Vega with the bases loaded to end game one with the 7-5 victory.

In game two Kinston used a solo home run in the top of the eight by Nathan Panther to break a 1-1 tie and send Kinston to a 3-1 victory. Kinston added an RBI single by Mike Butia later in the inning to secure the win. Jim Deters (4-2) picked up the win from the pen, going two innings and giving up two hits. Josh Tomlin, making his Carolina League debut after being called up from Lake County, put in a great start going six innings and giving up just three hits.

Kinston will finish up the series and the road trip tomorrow at 7:05 in Wilmington, Delaware. The K-Tribe will send Ryan Edell to the mound against Wilmington's Rowdy Hardy.
