
Jupiter Rallies past Marauders

Bradenton, FL - The Jupiter Hammerheads (23-26) rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 3-0 deficit and top the Marauders (23-26) 5-4 on Saturday night at McKechnie Field. LHP Steven Brault (L, 3-1) took the loss, although only one of the four runs he allowed in the seventh was earned. He whiffed five and walked two over 6 2/3 innings.
Trailing 5-3 and down to their last out in the ninth inning, the Marauders got a solo home run from SS JaCoby Jones to trim the deficit to 5-4. Jones leads the team with six home runs on the season. Jupiter closer Tyler Kinley induced a fly out from LF Barrett Barnes to end the game. Hammerheads lefty Raudel Lazo (W, 1-0) pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief for the win.
Barnes, Jones, and 3B Wyatt Mathisen each had two hits for Bradenton. 2B Erich Weiss and 1B Edwin Espinal each drove in a run for the Marauders as they built a 3-0 lead in the middle innings.
NOTES: The game began at 6:33 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 87 degrees, and wind blowing 12 mph out to right field ...Wyatt Mathisen hit his first double of the season...
