Juniors Triumph Over Baie-Comeau

The Montreal Juniors beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 3-1 Friday night at the Centre Henry-Leonard in Baie-Comeau.

Montreal jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Philippe Fontaine at the 10:47 mark of the first period on a deflection of a point shot. Baie-Comeau evened the score at 14:08 of the first period when Simon Darveau scored his second of the season. The Juniors took the lead for good when Louis-Marc Aubry converted a two-on-one at the 15:47 mark of the first period.

Montreal added to their lead in the second period on a power play goal by Trevor Parkes at 7:18. It was Parkes' tenth goal of the season.

J-F Berube picked up his tenth win of the season while stopping 13 of 14 shots he faced. His counterpart in the Baie-Comeau nets, Jason Missiaen, was the busier of the two as Montreal pepper him with 27 shots.
