Montreal vs. Gatineau All-Time:

- In 14 games played, Montreal has a 7-7 record all-time vs. Gatineau.

- Montreal has run into a few rough patches when visiting the Robert Guertin Centre, winning only once in seven games. Despite the results, both teams have managed to score their fare share of goals as the Juniors have notched 24 goals, while Gatineau has responded with 32 in their 7 games.

- With the exception of one game, the Juniors have dominated the Olympiques at the Verdun Auditorium, having defeated them in all three games this season, and finished with a 3-1 record in the 2008-2009 campaign. Overall, Montreal has netted 24 goals, while the Olympiques have responded with 13.

- The franchise really dominated the Olympiques when the team was based in St. John's as the Fog Devils held a 5-1 record against Gatineau.

- Before closing shop in Newfoundland, the team finished with an almost perfect 3-1 mark at home and a perfect 2-0 mark at the the Robert Guertin Centre in their 6 games played.

- The first shutout in Juniors history came at the hands of the Olympiques as Montreal blanked Gatinueau 5-0 at the Verdun Auditorium on September 28th, 2008.

Tonight's Key Matchup:

- In the chase for the playoffs, Montreal's Nicolas Chouinard's five goals against Lewiston not only set a record, but came at a perfect time. However, tonight, his streak is matched by Gatineau's Tye McGinn, who has also kept his team going too.

- Both players have put up similar numbers, but McGinn bests Choiunard physically. While Chouinard stands at a speedy and feisty 5"10 and 175 lbs, Tye McGinn, comes in a tad taller and heavier at 6"2 and 200 lbs.

Juniors All-Time:

- Tonight's game is the 128th in the history of the Montréal Juniors. To date, the franchise has a 62-65 record.

A Five Spot:

- Nicolas Chouinard's five goals against the Lewiston MAINEiacs on February 23rd not only led his team to victory, but established a new franchise record.

- In the game, Chouinard became only the 42nd player in QMJHL history to score 4 goals or more in one period (3rd).

- He also broke the franchise record of four goals in a game shared by St. John's Luke Adam (11/09/2007) and Montreal's Louis-Marc Aubry (3/15/2009).

Scoring 20:

- This season, rookie Trevor Parkes, veterans Jérémy Gouchie and Nicolas Chouinard all cracked the 20 goal plateau, making them respectively the 4th, 5th and 6th players in Juniors history to reach that milestone.

- Chouinard was the latest Juinor to achieve the feat with his 20th coming at home against Gatineau (2/21/2010). Oddly enough for Parkes and Gouchie, both milestone goals came against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Parkes hit the mark on the road (1/28/2010) while Gouchie followed at home (2/14/2010).

- With 9 games to go, one more Junior is on the cusp of the 20 goal plateau: Guillaume Asselin (18).

Ascending the Charts:

- As a rookie in 2008-09, right wing Guillaume Asselin turned heads by finishing the season with 18 goals and 19 assists in 63 games.

- In his sophomore campaign, Asselin is showing clear signs of growth as with 59 games under his belt, he's totaled 18 goals and 20 assists.

- Asselin won the QMJHL's Offensive Player of the Week award for his 7 point performance from September 30th to October 4th. He became the first Montreal Junior to win the award this season, and the second since Angelo Esposito in October 2008.

First Impressions:

- It did not take long for rookie Trevor Parkes to prove that he belongs in the Q. After 58 games, he leads Montreal in goals with 25, including a team-high 7 on the power play.

- Amongst rookies, Parkes ranks second in goals, while his 40 overall points place him ninth in scoring, fourth amongst right wings.
