Montreal Juniors News Release
A very confident and enthused Montreal Juniors faced off the Gatineau Olympics today, after winning their previous game 9-7 against Lewiston. The Olympics leave with the win 2-1, while the Juniors now hold a record of (28-26-2-4 : 62pts).
The first face off was not successful for either sides. It is early into the second period that Montreal's Louis-Marc Aubry scored his 14th goal of the season giving his team a lead in the game. In the third period, Adam Janosik gave his team a little hope when he scored with less than three minutes in the game. It is only in the eighth round of shootouts that Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the winning goal.
Juniors' goalie Jean-Francois Bérubé, saved 19 goals on 20 shots, while Olympiques' Maxime Clermont made 38 saves on 39 shots.
Up next is a busy weekend for our Juniors who are back on the road towards Shawinigan's Bionest Center in the hope to beat the Cataractes tomorrow at 16:00. The Montreal juniors won't rest for long since they will then be on their way to Drummondville to face off the Voltigeurs, also at 16:00. Our team will be back home March 4th to host the Olympiques for one last time before the playoffs.
