Jr. K-Wings Announce Schedule

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud member of the North American Hockey League, announce their 60-game schedule for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.

The Jr. K-Wings regular season will run from September 14th-March 31st. All 28 of the member clubs in the NAHL will play 60 games (28 home, 28 away and 4 showcase contests). All home games for the Jr. K-Wings will be played at Wings West on either Saturday's or Sunday's with face-off slated for 2 p.m.

Kalamazoo will start the season on Wednesday, September 14th during the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota versus the Austin Bruins. Including the contest against the Bruins, the K-Wings will play in four games during the NAHL Showcase.

The Jr. K-Wings will play their first home game Saturday, September 24th versus the Jamestown Ironmen.

The opening month of the season will include one other home game on Sunday, September 25th versus the Port Huron Fighting Falcons.

Creating in-state rivalries, the teams the Jr. K-Wings battle the most this year are the Traverse City North Stars(12 games; 6 home and 6 away), the Michigan Warriors (12 games; 6 home and 6 away) and Port Huron Fighting Falcons (12 games; 6 home and 6 away). Kalamazoo will also play the Jamestown Ironmen 12 times this season (6 home and 6 away).

Later this summer, the Jr. K-Wings will announce their exhibition schedule.

Season tickets for the upcoming 2011-2012 season of Jr. K-Wings hockey are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Fans can purchase their tickets during regular business hours of Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or by calling (269) 345-5101.
