Former Fresno Hockey Player to Coach in NHL

Fresno, Calif. - Former Fresno Falcons' player Glen Gulutzan has officially been named the new head coach of the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League according to NHL.com.

Gulutzan, 39, played in Fresno from 1996-2003, serving as a player and assistant coach for the Falcons during the '01-'02 and '02-'03 seasons.

Gulutzan began his career behind the bench as head coach for the ECHL expansion team Las Vegas Wranglers in 2004 through May 2009. He then made the jump in his coaching career to the American Hockey League's Texas Stars, a new team in the league and triple A affiliate of the Dallas Stars in the NHL. Gulutzan has a compiled coaching record of 341-180-72 entering his new position with the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League.
