The Springfield Jr. Blues take their game on the road this weekend to face the read hot Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings. The Jr. K-Wings have won 7 of their last 8 games and have moved into a tie for second place in the division. Kalamazoo was one of the most active teams at the deadline, acquiring 3 top players in the league from various teams.
The Jr. Blues come into the weekend having dropped 3 of their last 4 games, all of which were at home. Brett Skibba and Jeff McFarland are leading the offensive attack, each posting 2 goals and an assist in their last 5 games. Ryan Kellenberger continues to get better between the pipes, posting a .935 save percentage and 1.95 GAA in his last 3 starts.
The Jr. Blues come into the weekend with the 11th best powerplay in the league at 16.2%. Kalamazoo's powerplay is operating at 16.6%, good for 10th in the NAHL.
