
Jr. Blues Lose 4-2 To Topeka

The Topeka Roadrunners, led by former Peoria Mustang Alec Hagaman, beat the Jr. Blues 4-2 for a sweep of the two-game weekend series. Springfield goaltender C.J. Groh faced 46 Roadrunner shots in the loss. Topeka led 2-0 after the first period and added another in the second before Jon Gaffney lit the lamp for Springfield's first goal. He was assisted by Austin Coldwell and Nick Curry. Hagaman scored his second goal of the night to make it 4-1 before Jeremiah Dargis registered his first goal of the season, assisted by Jon Bobb, to bring Springfield within two. The Blues, hampered by penalty trouble all night, couldn't come back. Springfield was whistled for seventeen penalties compared to nine for Topeka. Topeka kept the Blues to only sixteen shots on goal to preserve the win an! d remain undefeated for the season. The Blues are off next weekend and then travel to Alexandria to face the Blizzard on October 10th and 11th. The Blues first home game will be October 17th vs. the 2008 NAHL Champions, the St. Louis Bandits
