Jr. Blues Host Peoria this Weekend

Jr. Blues Host Peoria (NA3HL) this weekend The Jr. Blues begin the preseason with games on Saturday and Sunday versus the Peoria Mustangs. The Mustangs are members of the North American 3 Hockey League. The NA3HL acts as a developmental league for the NAHL. Current Jr. Blues players Parker Johnson and Nate Chasteen are alumni of the Mustangs' program. Game times are 6:00pm on Saturday and 3:00 pm on Sunday. The first 2000 people will be allowed entrance into the stadium this Saturday. Doors will open at 5 PM and entrance is FREE.

Yellow Defeats Blue in Scrimmage

Fazio scores 3 points in the win Saturday morning marked the beginning of the 2012-13 season with the 1st Annual Yellow and Blue game. It was the first chance for the Jr. Blues faithful to get a look at this year's team. Blue defeated Yellow by a score of 4-2. Yellow was led by the line of Mike Fazio, Nate Chasteen and Mike Severson. Fazio had 2 goals and added an assist while Chasteen and Severson each had a goal and an assist. Ryan Kellenberger backstopped the Blue team, allowing 2 goals on 26 shots. Russell Jordan and Cody Dixon both netted goals for the Yellow team. Thanks to all the fans who came out and supported the boys!

Training Camp Recap

Cathy Andrade visits the Jr. Blues As the Jr. Blues enter their second week of training camp, things have begun to heat up. Week 1 included three-a-days for the team with a skill session in the morning and team practice in the afternoon. Plus the team has had daily off-ice workouts at Fiore MMA or Fit Club. Week 2 will be highlighted with the morning power skating. San Jose's finest power skating coach, Cathy Andrade, is in Springfield to work with the team. Cathy is known for Cathy's Power Hour in San Jose, CA. She is working with the team on balance, stride and edges all week.
