Joshua Phelps Named to USL League One Team of the Week

South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release


STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC defender Joshua Phelps was named to USL League One's Team of the Week for Week 26 of the 2022 regular seasonThe South Georgia defender scored his first goal of the season in tonight's win at Forward Madison. Defensively, Phelps locked down to help South Georgia get its eight clean sheet of the season. Phelps finished the night with two tackles and three clearances.

South Georgia limited a ten-man Madison team to just two shots on target throughout the entire game and two corner kicks coming in added time. Phelp's defensive presence towered over the Madison offensive unit and helped South Georgia get its second win all-time against Forward Madison, with the first win coming on the road against Madison on May 18, 2019.

Following Saturday's match, Tormenta FC will host its first ever fixture at Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium next Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Supporters can purchase Flex Ticket packages to guarantee their presence at all remaining home matches this season.
