Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) - In his first appearance of the season with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, Jose Siri's presence in the lineup was reminiscent of his prolific 2021 campaign.

Siri hit a solo home run and a two-run double Tuesday night in an 11-9 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes in 11 innings.

Siri's solo shot in the second traveled 441 feet to left-center at Isotopes Park. He put the Space Cowboys up 6-5 in the seventh with a double down the left-field line, scoring Pedro León and Korey Lee. Siri led Sugar Land with 72 RBI and tied for the team lead with 16 homers last season before receiving a September promotion to the Houston Astros.

Enmanuel Valdez followed Siri's go-ahead double with an opposite-field RBI single. León and Lewis Brinson each hit solo home runs in the fifth. It was the 10th of the year for León and 12th for Brinson, who sent his home run 460 feet to left field.

León finished the night 3-for-5 with a double and two stolen bases to go with his solo homer. He leads the Pacific Coast League with 18 doubles this season and is third with 21 stolen bases. He is the only player in the PCL with at least 10 home runs and 20 stolen bases.

Albuquerque was led to the win on a grand slam from Alan Trejo, who had five RBI on the night.

Taylor Jones brought the Space Cowboys to within one prior to their three-run seventh with a sixth-inning RBI single.

Albuquerque jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second. Coco Montes went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Dom Nuñez went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Devin Conn made his Triple A debut, allowing just one hit through two scoreless innings of relief. Nick Hernandez followed Conn with two scoreless and hitless innings.

JP France is set to take the mound at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday at Isotopes Park, with Albuquerque scheduled to start José Ureña.
