FORT MYERS, Fla. - Felix Jorge tossed seven one-run innings to guide the Fort Myers Miracle to a 2-1 victory over the St. Lucie Mets at Hammond Stadium on Friday evening.

The Miracle jumped out to a quick one-run lead in the first. Sean Miller led off with a base hit against Mets starter and former Florida Gulf Coast University pitcher Ricky Knapp. A balk moved Miller to second base and then Edgar Corcino drew a walk. Alex Swim then hit a sharp grounder to first base. Michael Katz threw out Corcino at second base, but Swim beat the return feed to first base to prevent a double play. With runners on the corners, Trey Vavra softly poked an RBI single through the right side and Miller scampered home, 1-0.

In the top of the second, the Mets answered back. After a perfect inning in the first, Jorge (2-2) surrendered a lead-off double to Kevin Taylor. Wuilmer Becerra followed with a single up the middle that put runners on the corners. Jorge induced a 6-4-3 double play out of Katz, but Taylor crossed home to tie the game at 1-1.

Jorge and Knapp dueled over the next five innings. Knapp exited after six innings in a no decision with one run allowed on three hits, four walks and three strikeouts. Jorge lasted seven frames for the Miracle and scattered five hits and struck out seven, lowering his ERA to 1.38 for the season.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Mets brought in reliever Alberto Baldonado. Kevin Garcia greeted the lefty with a long drive into the gap in right center. Champ Stuart had a diving attempt and the ball in his mitt, but lost control when his body slammed into the turf. Garcia reached second on a double, but was able to advance to third base when Becerra's throw from right field was off-target. Tanner Witt then lifted a fly ball to deep right field that Becerra caught. Garcia tagged up from third and scored to put the Miracle up 2-1.

Yorman Landa entered out of the Miracle bullpen for the eighth and recorded a perfect frame with two ground outs and fly out. In the ninth, Amed Rosario reached on a bouncing single through the right side to start the inning. Landa rallied to strikeout Taylor and Becerra. With Katz at the plate, Rosario stole second base. Landa remained unfazed and punched out the side when Katz was cut down on a slider to end the game. The two-inning save was Landa's second of the season.

The Miracle (17-12) complete a three-game set against the Mets (15-13) in the series rubber match on Saturday night. Randy Rosario (2-2) is set to toe the rubber for the Miracle against St. Lucie's Scarlyn Reyes (0-4). Saturday is Stan and Haney Night at the ballpark. The dastardly duo of debauchery from 96 K-ROCK will offer a unique set of Stan and Haney themed baseball cards to fans that donate to the D.R.A.F.T. fund. It's also a $2 Saturday with $2 domestic draft beers from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
