Key Hits Elude Marauders in Narrow Loss

Bradenton, FL-- The Bradenton Marauders (13-15) went 0-for-11 with men in scoring position in a 3-2 loss to the Charlotte Stone Crabs (15-13) on Friday night at McKechnie Field. 2B Kevin Kramer hit his second home run of the season in the loss.

RHP Yeudy Garcia (L, 0-3) struck out six for the fourth time this season, but lasted just four innings. He allowed eight hits, but only one of his three runs allowed was earned. Bradenton committed three errors in the game.

SS Kevin Newman had two hits and a walk. Newman's first inning run on a sacrifice fly from DH Pablo Reyes and the Kra- mer solo blast in the fourth off Benton Moss (W, 2-1) proved the be the only Bradenton runs of the contest.

Brian Miller recorded a four-out save for Charlotte. Bradenton's pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts.

UP NEXT: The Marauders will wrap up the series against Charlotte on Saturday night... First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m..... RHP Austin Coley will make his sixth start for the Marauders... He will be opposed by RHP Benton Moss.
