Johnstown Chiefs Issue Community Challenge

September 15, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today in an effort to increase their season ticket base and give back to the city of Johnstown that they have issued a community challenge.

The challenge is simple. If 200 new season tickets are purchased between September 16 and October 16, 2009 the Chiefs will donate 100 tickets to area non-profit organizations and charities for each of their seven Wednesday home games during the 2009-10 season. The Chiefs will send out regular updates through their website, www.johnstownchiefs.com, and their e-newsletter so that fans can keep track of the challenge's progress.

"It's obvious how well the Johnstown area has supported the Chiefs since 1988, and that the city has a lot of pride in its hockey team. The team is constantly trying to grow its season ticket base and we think this is a creative way to do that," said director of sales Chris Catanzaro.

"The Chiefs also want to do everything in our power to be a good community partner, and if we can all pull together it will be a great feeling to allow up to 100 people to attend our Wednesday home games for free," added Catanzaro.
