Erie, Pennsylvania, Thursday, February 10, 2011 - Ivan Johnson scored 37 points, and Kyle Goldcamp pitched in a career-high 19 points and 6 blocked shots to help the Erie BayHawks scorch the New Mexico Thunderbirds 125-100. Erie extended their win streak to six games and improved to 21-9.

The BayHawks came out fighting after losing two to the Thunderbirds in New Mexico earlier this season. Erie took an early lead and never looked back. Goldcamp and Johnson both had ten apiece in the first quarter to put the BayHawks up 33-26 at the quarter break. Johnson finished the half with 22 points, giving Erie a 16-point margin at the break, 63-47.

After the half, Erie outscored the Thunderbirds again in the third frame 28-22, led by Blake Ahearn's 10 points. New Mexico couldn't repair the damage in the fourth as Erie's lead grew as high as 30, before finishing with the 25-point victory.

Five BayHawks scored in double-figures. In addition to Johnson and Goldcamp, Ahearn finished with 18, Tasmin Mitchell chipped in 13, and Derek Raivio had 11.

The Thunderbirds dropped to 14-19 and were led by Jamine Peterson who had 22, Dar Tucker added 18, JR Giddens and Abdulai Jalloh had 12 a piece, and Marcus Hubbard notched 11. It was Giddens' first game with the Thunderbirds after he was acquired by the team today from the NBA Development League's available player pool.

The same two teams go at it again on Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Tullio Arena.
