John Walton named Hershey's Senior Manager of Communications

The HERSHEY BEARS have announced that John Walton has been named the team's newly created Senior Manager of Communications for the upcoming 2006-07 season. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Walton, who has broadcast games for the team since 2002, will oversee all communications aspects of the organization, including broadcasting, media relations, website content and community relations. The winner of the American Hockey League's 2004 James H. Ellery Award in the radio category, Walton begins his new duties with the team on Monday, July 24.
"We couldn't be happier that John has opted to return for the 2006-07 season," said BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst. "His call of the game is second to none, and his communication skills are a great asset to our organization."
The BEARS will open the home portion of the 2006-07 season on Saturday, October 21, with an opponent to be announced in early August along with the rest of the 2006-07 schedule. Season tickets are on sale now by calling (717) 508-BEAR, with several ticket plans available.
