
John Moyer Named ADT Defensive Player of the Week

May 13, 2003 â Chicago Rush lineman John Moyer was named this week's Arena Football League ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday in Chicago's game against Arizona, the AFL announced today. It is the second time this season Moyer has been named ADT Defensive Player of the Week.
Moyer, a leading candidate for AFL Lineman of the Year honors, enjoyed a career day against the Rattlers, registering 6.5 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. This season Moyer already has recorded career-highs in tackles (27.5), sacks (9) and interceptions (1). Additionally Moyer has forced three fumbles, recovered two fumbles and, while playing offense, has not allowed a sack this season.
"We are extremely proud of John's play," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He has worked hard to raise the level of his game and to help us be competitive this season."
This week the Rush (7-8) needs a win to qualify for the AFL playoffs when it hosts the Indiana Firebirds (6-9) at Allstate Arena Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the game may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
