LANSING, Mich. - A. J. Jimenez went 3-for-4 with a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning, helping the Lansing Lugnuts (2-2; 28-45) split a four-game series with the Dayton Dragons (2-2; 30-44), 5-3, on Sunday at Oldsmobile Park.

Mike Konstanty's two-out, two-run single in the top of the eighth had tied the score at 3-3, only to see Jimenez double home Balbino Fuenmayor in the home half to put the Lugnuts back on top for good. Jimenez stole third base on the very next pitch, putting himself in position to score on Luis Fernandez's suicide squeeze to increase the Lugnuts' lead to two runs.

That proved more than enough for Lansing closer Matt Daly, who set the side down in order in the ninth for his 14th save.

Jason Roenicke (1-0) picked up the win for the Lugnuts despite allowing Konstanty's game-tying base hit.

Scott Gaffney (3-3) suffered the loss for Dayton, allowing two runs on two hits in his only inning of relief work.

Jimenez also provided an RBI single while providing excellent defense behind the plate for Lansing. A day after stealing eight bases in nine attempts, the Dragons did not attempt a steal against the 19-year-old native of Puerto Rico.

The Lugnuts are off on Monday before traveling Tuesday to begin a four-game series at Great Lakes with a 7:05 p.m. affair. Left-hander John Anderson (2-4, 4.74) gets the start for Lansing against the Loons' Ethan Martin (4-3, 4.58).
