Janesville Jets News Release

The Janesville Jets announced today the hiring of Greg Hanthorn for the newly-created, full-time position of Business, Operations and Community Relations Manager.

Hanthorn worked for the Jets last season as a game night Public Address Announcer and on special group sales efforts. Currently, "Big Red" (as Hanthorn is commonly known) is the on-air personality of the "WJVL Country Hall of Fame" program on Sunday mornings, which he will continue to host.

Besides his broadcast background, Hanthorn brings to the Jets organization extensive sales and operations experience. Additionally, Greg is also very active in the community supporting local and national charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project.

In Greg's current role with the Jets, he will oversee game night operations, focus on increasing group and individual ticket sales and manage player community and Jets promotional efforts, among other responsibilities.

"I'm very excited about the opportunity to work for the Jets," said Greg Hanthorn. "I look forward to working with Coach Dibble, John McCally, the players, and game night staff to get the community on board supporting Janesville Jets Hockey."

Hanthorn will report to Jets Team President Bill McCoshen and work closely with Jets Marketing and Corporate Sales Manager John McCally as well as Jets Head Coach Joe Dibble.

"The Jets are thrilled to have Big Red Hanthorn join our team! My partners and I wanted to enhance our fan experience at our home games as we strive to increase our attendance to 900 fans per game," stated Jets President Bill McCoshen. "We also wanted to ensure that our players and coaches are much more involved in community activities. We are confident Big Red's passion for the Janesville area and the Jets will help us achieve those goals."
