Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release
ND) After playing 10 of their last 11 games on the road, and spending the majority of the last month away from the Red River Valley, the Fargo-Moorhead Jets return to the John E. Carlson Coliseum this weekend to start a four-game home stand.
The FM Jets (14-4-1) face their North Dakota rivals, the Bismarck Bobcats (6-8-2) on Thursday, followed by games Friday and Saturday versus the league's hottest team, the Bozeman Icedogs. All of the games begin at 7pm
The FM Jets will also be home Friday Nov. 25 at 8pm against the Minnesota Blizzard.
Over the course of the last month, the Jets have been to the Twin Cities, Montana and Iowa making only one brief appearance at the Coliseum, a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Bismarck Bobcats before over 1,100 fans on Nov. 5.
It was a sour loss for the Jets, who had won 13-consecutive home games heading into that match up. Bismarck has actually had plenty of success at the Coliseum, making them one of the few teams to hold that claim, as the Bobcats have won four times in Fargo since last season.
Bismarck has been idle from NAHL play since Nov. 5, but the FM Jets have been quite active.
Last weekend, the Jets went 2-0-1 during a three-game road trip to Mason City, IA and Owatonna, MN. The five point weekend moved the Jets back into first place in the North American Hockey League's Central Division.
The Bobcats are one of the few teams that have had success at the Coliseum the past two seasons, winning four times in the building during that span. Nonetheless, the FM Jets do hold a 3-1-0 lead in the season series.
The Bismarck game will feature the FM Jets' second, Thirsty Thursday promotion with $1 off beer all night long.
While any Bismarck game is tough for the FM Jets, the real test will come over the weekend with two games against the West Division leading Bozeman Icedogs (15-3-0), who have won 15 consecutive games. Bozeman enters this weekend only 10 wins shy of tying the Junior A hockey record for most consecutive wins, which is 25.
Bozeman defeated the FM Jets 4-0 in Montana on Oct. 28, in the only previous meeting between the teams.
Will Anyone Score
The FM Jets, Bozeman Icedogs series will pit the NAHL's two best goaltenders against one another. Bozeman's Matt Dalton and the FM Jets' B..J. O'Brien are 1-2 respectively in the NAHL.
Local Connection
Bozeman's roster features Moorhead, MN natives Cory Loos and Brett Barta, who are both former Spuds.
