
JetHawks Fall To Sixers 13-11 in 12 Innings

(Lancaster, CA) â Chris Carter hit two home runs and drove in a career-high six runs but the JetHawks fell 13-11 to the Inland Empire 66ers in 12 innings on Tuesday night at Clear Channel Stadium. The loss snaps the JetHawks four-game winning streak and gives the team a 16-16 overall record on the season.
The JetHawks jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first inning. Jay Garthwaite doubled with the bases loaded to score three runs. Carter then hit the first of his two home runs to score to more.
The 66ers were able to recover and take a four-run lead late in the game. However, Carter his second home run of the night, a grand slam over the scoreboard in right field in the eighth inning to tie the game at 11-11.
Inland Empire was able to score twice off Carlton Wells (3-1) in the top of the 12th inning on two hits and two walks to win the game. The loss was the first of the year for Wells.
The series with the 66ers continues on Wednesday night at Clear Channel Stadium. Chad Scarbery will make the start for the JetHawks and Brandon Moorhead will go to the mound for the 66ers in the 6:30 P.M. game.
