Lancaster, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino had their worst pitching performance of 2018 and fell to the Lancaster JetHawks 16-9 on Thursday. The Sixers gave up season highs in runs, hits (19) and were one off their season-worst in walks with eight free passes as the JetHawks (63-54, 30-17) scored at least one run in seven of the eight innings that they were required to bat. The JetHawks also stole seven bases through the first five innings of the contest.
Inland Empire (59-58, 26-21) took a 2-0 lead in the first when Brandon Marsh homered, his sixth with Inland Empire and second in as many days. They made it 6-2 in the second with another three-run frame against Sixers' starter Erik Manoah. In the top of the third however the Sixers tied the game when Jonah Todd drilled a three-run triple to right and then scored on Richie Fecteau's RBI single. Lancaster bounced back with a run in the bottom of the third to lead 7-6. Inland Empire took a lead in the top of the fourth as Sanger had a RBI walk and David MacKinnon added a sac fly making it 8-7.
