
Jersey auction raises $14,000 for local boy; Kids Club helps clean up Bakersfield

Warm-up Jersey Auction Brings in $14,850 for Walker Franks & Active 20/30 : The Bakersfield Condors auctioned off their warm-up jerseys during a silent and live auction Tuesday, April 11th and Friday, April 14th . The U.S. Army jersey, featuring a camouflage Desert Storm design, was worn by the team before every home game throughout the season. The majority of the jerseys were listed in a silent auction being held on the main concourse during the games, with the exception of four. Forward Eric Neilson's warm up jersey was auctioned off live during the first intermission on Tuesday for $1,350. The pre-game sweaters for Condors players Ryan Munce, Kevin St. Jacques and Sean Venedam were auctioned off live following Friday's game for a combined $4,750. In total, the auction brought in $14,850. Proceeds from this auction benefit the Active 20/30 Club, an international organization that works to improve the quality of life for special needs children in the community. This particular fundraiser will help serve the needs of 9 year-old Walker Franks, a Bakersfield boy with severe acquired aplastic anemia
Saturday, April 22 : Members of the Condors Kids Club are invited to help "Keep Bakersfield Beautiful" by participating in a clean-up of Yokuts Park at 8am. Saturday, April 22 : Join Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd at Jim Burke Ford from 11-2pm as the auto group works to "Put the Brakes on Cancer". From April 15-30th Jim Burke Ford will donate $10 to the American Cancer Society for every brake job or the purchase of 4 tires. Saturday, April 22nd, Colonel Claw'd will be present to sign autographs and mingle with customers. Jim Burke Ford is located at 2001 Oak Street in Bakersfield.
Blackout the Ice Dogs : On Friday, April 21st , the Condors host the Long Beach Ice Dogs in Game Six of the Kelly Cup Playoffs sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and The New AT&T. All fans in attendance will receive a Condors Blackout Foam Rally Stick and are encouraged to Blackout the Ice Dogs by wearing black to the game.
Playoff ticket packages are now available including the Condors Playoff Family Pack, which includes: 1 game ticket, 1 hot dog, 1 soda and 1 Nightly Note for all playoff games starting for as low as $36 Also, fans may purchase tickets for all prospective playoff games in advance. Individual playoff game tickets for Round 1 are on sale now and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena box office, which is open 10am - 6pm Monday through Friday and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322- 2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
