Jeff DiMaria Named to MISL Team of the Week

St. Charles, MO - St. Louis Ambush midfielder/assistant coach Jeff DiMaria has been named to the Major Indoor Soccer League's Team of the Week for the sixth week of the 2013-14 regular season.

Even though the Ambush fell 24-13 to the Missouri Comets in their only contest of the week, on Sunday, December 22, DiMaria turned in a superb performance. Jeff scored three goals and an assist, for a seven-point game. Ambush goalkeeper Jeff Richey and forward Corey Adamson received honorable mention in the league announcement.

Baltimore Blast midfielder Max Ferdinand captured the MISL Player of the Week. Ferdinand recorded seven goals and 16 points over two games, as the Blast took a home-and-home sweep of the Pennsylvania Roar.

Ferdinand was joined on the Team of the Week by goalkeeper William Vanzela, who earned a spot for the second consecutive week after recording an eight-save shutout against the Roar on Saturday night.

The Comets also had a pair of players named to the Team of the Week. Forward Bryan Perez had a seven-point match against the Ambush, consisting of two goals and three assists. Comets defender John Sosa had a goal and four assists to help lead the Comets to victory.

The Team of the Week was completed by the Syracuse Silver Knights' Kenardo Forbes, who had a pair of goals as the Knights captured sole possession of first place with a 10-7 win against Rochester.
