MONTGOMERY, AL - The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx shut down the Biscuits and rolled to a, 6-1, win in the finale of a five-game series on Sunday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Biscuits' starter Brandon Mann retired the first six batters he faced, but Travis Garcia started a rally for the Diamond Jaxx by singling to open the third. Brent Johnson followed with a double to send Garcia to third. Jimmy Mojica then laid down a successful safety-squeeze bunt to score Garcia with the game's first run. A batter later, Greg Halman delivered a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Johnson and the Jaxx led, 2-0.

Meanwhile, Jaxx starter Nick Hill (3-3) was cruising. He shutout the Biscuits for six innings to earn the win, allowing just two hits and striking out five.

Mann (5-6) pitched well, but was saddled with the loss over six innings. He walked four, but struck out a season-high seven while allowed two earned runs.

The Biscuits finally got on the board with a run off reliever Ricky Orta in the seventh inning. Cody Cipriano brought home the run with a sacrifice fly.

Orta recovered to eventually finish the ballgame. His three innings of work earning him his second save of the season.

West Tenn insured the win with three runs in the eighth inning off of reliever Neal Frontz. They capped the scoring in the ballgame with a lone run against Paul Phillips in the ninth. The Biscuits won the series, but the Diamond Jaxx took the season-series, going 8-7 against Montgomery for the year.

The Biscuits will enjoy an off day on Monday, before opening a five-day, five-game series on the road against the Birmingham Barons on Tuesday night. Game one of the series is scheduled for 7:05 PM at Regions Park.
