Carlos Triunfel returns from the DL
After making his Double-A debut with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx to start 2009, infielder Carlos Triunfel suffered a fractured left tibia while sliding into second base on April 10. The fourth best prospect in the entire Mariners organization, and top infield prospect, he was batting 2-for-6 with two RBIs in his first two games before the injury.
Triunfel spent nearly five months on the disabled list, before returning to action in late August for the AZL Mariners of the Rookie League. A .250 average with a double and four RBIs was enough to land Triunfel back on the Jaxx roster for their final playoff push of the season.
Diamond Jaxx fans will finally have the opportunity to watch Triunfel in action, as the team returns from Mississippi to take on the Tennessee Smokies in their final series of the regular season.
