(Huntsville, AL) August 28th- Jesus Merchan had three hits and two RBI's to lead the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx to a 9-7 win over the Huntsville Stars in game four of a five game series from Joe Davis Stadium. The win clinched the series for the Diamond Jaxx, who have now won three straight series and nine of their last eleven games.

Merchan finished the night a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. Matt Tuiasosopo had two hits, including his ninth home run of the year, and Jeff Frazier had two hits and two RBI's to help lead the Diamond Jaxx ten hit attack. Michael Hrynio picked up the win in relief of Justin Thomas. Hrynio (3-1) allowed no runs on two hits in 2 2/3 innings out of the Jaxx bullpen.

Steve Hammond suffered the loss for Huntsville, dropping his record to 7-9 on the season. Hammond allowed six runs (two earned) on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts in six innings of work. Huntsville committed three errors on the night, leading to four unearned runs. Guilder Rodriguez and Steve Sollmann had three hits each while Brendan Katin and Alcides Escobar drove in two runs each to highlight the Stars sixteen hit attack.

The final game of the series takes place on Wednesday night at 7:05 CDT. Righty Joe Woerman (7-6 3.80) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Huntsville will counter with lefty Sam Narron (7-8 4.26).
