
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to join Manchester United on United States tour

CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, July 19, 2014) - Manchester United announced today that striker Javier Hernandez, commonly known as Chicharito, will join the team in Los Angeles prior to the Chevrolet Cup against the LA Galaxy, played Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. PT at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
Chicharito comes to United after playing for Mexico in the recent FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He appeared in all four of Mexico's games including scoring a goal against Croatia in the group stage.
The 26-year-old has played the last four seasons at the club and has scored a total of 59 goals in all competitions.
Individual tickets, starting at $35, are available for purchase via Ticketmaster. Fans can receive discounts on their seats by purchasing an LA Galaxy group or multi-game plan or by becoming a Season Ticket Member. Packages can be purchased by calling 877-3GALAXY (342-5299) or visiting www.lagalaxy.com/manutd. Galaxy Season Ticket Members will receive the same number of seats at Rose Bowl Stadium as they have in their full season plan and have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets at a discount off face value prices. Supporters are urged to arrive to the Rose Bowl Stadium early.
After the opening match against LA Galaxy, United will then take part in the International Champions Cup facing AS Roma in Denver (Saturday 26th July), Inter Milan in Washington DC (Tuesday 29th July) and Real Madrid in Michigan (Saturday 2nd August). If United make the final of the competition, the pre-season tour will conclude with the final in Miami on Monday 4th August.
Manchester United will hold an open training session on Tuesday, July 22 at 7:00 p.m. PT at the Rose Bowl Stadium ahead of Wednesday's game. A full media schedule will be announced at a later time.
General admission tickets to the open training session, which cost $20, are available for purchase via Ticketmaster. Limited VIP Tickets for Manchester United's open training are also available for $300, and include field level seating and an autograph session following training. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the LA Galaxy Foundation.
