Tulsa Oilers News Release
The Tulsa Convention Center may look more like Camp Crystal Lake this winter when Jason Renard hits the ice and starts taking up for his new teammates. Renard, a 6'1" forward signed today with the Tulsa Oilers.
"His reputation speaks for itself, he really sticks up for his teammates... he won't back down," according to Oilers coach Butch Kaebel.
Last season with the Alabama Slammers of the WHA2, Renard had 167 penalty minutes in 17 games, he also contributed 14 points (4g, 10a). This will be the Alberta natives third turn in the Central Hockey League playing 41 games with Macon in 1998-99 and 30 total games over two seasons in Corpus Christi.
Kaebel adds, "Jason is a strong power-forward that comes to play every night. He brings a physical presence that fills a void from last year's team. Trust me... he'll be a fan favorite."
Tulsa Oilers training camp opens early October. The CHL schedule is less than a week from being released.
