2022-23 BATTALION REGULAR-SEASON SUMMARY

FIRST GOAL: The Battalion is 20-0-1 when scoring the first goal of a game and 9-10-0 when the opposing team scores first.

AFTER TWO PERIODS: The Battalion is 22-1-1 when leading after two periods, 1-9-0 when trailing after the second, and 6-0-0 when tied at the end of the second.

ONE-GOAL DECISIONS: The Battalion is 7-4-1 in games decided by one goal.

POWER PLAY: The Battalion is 13th in power-play efficiency with a scoring percentage of 21.1. The Troops have scored 31 goals on 147 opportunities.

PENALTY KILLING: The Battalion is 1st in penalty-killing with an effectiveness of 86.3 percent. The Troops have allowed 23 power-play goals during 168 times shorthanded.

PENALTY MINUTES: The Battalion is the 8th-most penalized team in the OHL, averaging 12.0 minutes per game.

EVEN STRENGTH: The Battalion has scored 144 goals at even strength or when shorthanded, and surrendered 91 goals at even strength or with the man advantage.

SHORTHANDED GOALS: The Battalion has scored a league-leading 11 shorthanded goals, including three by Nikita Tarasevich ... The Battalion is 15 points ahead of its pace of 2021-22 when the Troops finished first in the Central Division and third overall in the OHL with a record of 43-18-7 for 93 points in 68 games. The Battalion won a 3-2 shootout decision against the visiting Ottawa 67's in its 41st game last season.

TROOPS AMONG OHL LEADERS: KYLE JACKSON: Overage centre Jackson has 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points in 40 games and is tied for 5th in the OHL scoring race. He is tied for 6th in game-winning goals (4) and tied 8th in goals (24).

TY NELSON: Defenceman Nelson has 14 goals and 35 assists for 49 points in 40 games and is 2nd in assists (35), 2nd in points (49), and tied 2nd in goals (14) by OHL rearguards. He's 7th among all players in assists (34) and tied for 15th in the OHL scoring race (49 points).

MATVEY PETROV: Left winger Petrov has 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 points in 39 games and is 8th in the OHL scoring race. He's tied for 3rd in assists (39), tied 5th in plus-minus (+25) and tied 7th in power-play assists (16).

He has JOSH BLOOM: Left winger Bloom has 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points in 42 games with the Battalion and Saginaw Spirit. He is tied for the league-lead with three shorthanded goals.

DALYN WAKELY: Centre Wakely has 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 points in 40 games. He is tied for 6th in the OHL with four game-winning goals.

KYLE McDONALD: Overage right winger McDonald has 16 goals and five assists for 21 points in 17 games and is tied for 6th in game-winning goals (4).

PAUL CHRISTOPOULOS: Defenceman Christopoulos has one goal and 14 assists for 15 points in 40 games and leads the OHL in plus-minus (+35).

NIKITA TARASEVICH: Forward Tarasevich has 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points, all career highs, in 39 games. He is tied for the OHL lead with three shorthanded goals.

DOM DiVINCENTIIS: Goaltender DiVincentiis is 22-6-0 with a 2.51 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. He leads all netminders in wins (22) and average (2.51), and is 3rd in save percentage (.910).
