Austin Vieth, the Janesville Jets second-leading scorer this season, was traded to the Waterloo Black Hawks, a Tier I Junior A United States Hockey League (USHL) team.

Vieth (6' 0", 185 lbs), a forward from Marinette, WI, had 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in 13 games with the Jets. He was named North American Hockey League (NAHL) North Division Honorable Mention for the week ending October 14th.

The NAHL is a Tier 2 Junior A league, so the move up to the USHL is a positive stepping-stone in Vieth's hockey career.

Janesville Jets President Bill McCoshen stated, "One of the main objectives of the Jets organization is to develop players and move them on to play college hockey. Sometimes that path happens through movement to the USHL."

Like Janesville Jets Head Coach Joe Dibble, the Waterloo Black Hawks organization was impressed with Vieth's scoring ability and tenacity.

"While Austin was with the Jets, his work ethic was second-to-none," commented Dibble. "Vieth earned this opportunity to play in the USHL. We wish him the best."

In another trade move, the Janesville Jets acquired forward Daniel Kucerovy (6' 0", 180 lbs) from the Chicago Steel of the USHL.
