JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jammers allowed four runs over the final two innings to the Williamsport Crosscutters, losing 7-4. The loss knocked Jamestown out of first place after the Batavia Muckdogs won their game.
Jamestown led 4-3 entering the eighth inning and sent Michael Brady to the mound to preserve the lead. Brady, who had thrown 23 consecutive scoreless appearances, allowed a home run to Carlos Alonso to lead off the eighth.
He pitched the ninth as well and gave up a three-run home run to Ryne White, giving Williamsport the lead for good.
The Jammers trailed 3-0 after four innings, but scored a run in the bottom of the fifth and three in the bottom of the sixth. Brent Keys drove in the go-ahead run with a bunt single.
Then Williamsport rallied in the final two innings, tying the game and eventually taking the lead.
The series continues on Saturday, August 28th at 7:05 pm. The game can be heard live on JamestownJammers.com.
