
Tigers Start Final Homestand with Fireworks

NORWICH, CT - The Connecticut Tigers wrap up the 2010 home schedule with a six-game homestand beginning Saturday against the Brooklyn Cyclones (August 28-30), New York-Penn League affiliate of the New York Mets, and concludes against the Aberdeen IronBirds (August 31-September 2), New York-Penn League affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
The fun starts on Saturday with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Cyclones with "Palm Trees and Baseball Night." Be sure to wear your Hawaiian shirts and stay for a special fireworks show after the game sponsored by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas PyroVision.
Sunday, August 29 the Tigers and Cyclones play at 1:05 p.m. The gates open early at 11:30 a.m. for "Turn Back the Clock Day." The Thames Valley Base Ball Club will play a special base ball game set to 1861 rules. The first 500 fans through the gates will also receive a Benedict Arnold Bobblehead courtesy of the New London County Historical Society. Former Detroit Tiger player and 1968 World Champion Dick McAuliffe will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs at the game.
On Monday, August 30 the Tigers and Cyclones wrap up their series at 7:05 p.m. Join us for "Football Night" at Dodd Stadium featuring an appearance by former Patriots Quarterback Steve Grogan. The Tigers start the final home series of 2010 against Aberdeen on Tuesday, August 31 at 7:05 p.m. It's the final Kraft Singles Tuesday Night Tickets offer and the final "Two for Tuesday" presented by Price Chopper. Fans that present either a Kraft Singles Wrapper or Price Chopper Advantage Card will be eligible for a buy one, get one free ticket offer.
Wednesday, September 1 the Tigers and IronBirds play at 7:05 in the final "Wicked Wild Wednesday" of the season. Fans get four reserved seats, four hot dogs, four sodas and a program all for $40.00.
The home season wraps up on Thursday, September 2 at 7:05 p.m. with "Fan Appreciation Night" and "Thirsty Thursday." There will be great drink specials throughout the night and fireworks after the game!
