
Jamie Rivers to Speak at Salvation Army Tree of Lights Kickoff Luncheon

St. Charles, Mo. - The St. Charles Chill is proud to announce that general manager and head coach Jamie Rivers has been selected to be the featured guest speaker for the Salvation Army at the annual Tree of Lights Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday at 11:30.
Funds raised from the Tree of Lights luncheon will aid The Salvation Army in reaching its $700,000 fundraising goal, which will be used to help meet the growing needs of its programs and services in St. Charles County throughout the year.
"I am honored and humbled that the Salvation Army has asked me to speak", said the former St. Louis Blues defenseman. "They do a tremendous amount of good in the St. Charles community and myself and the St. Charles Chill look forward to doing anything we can to help raise money and awareness."
The Salvation Army is an international organization that has been faithfully serving St. Charles County since 1958. For 55 years, St. Charles County residents have turned to The Salvation Army for compassion, strength, and encouragement. The Salvation Army serves community members 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year through dozens of different programs and services that are designed to help people attain self-sufficiency.
The need is very real", explains Captain Ron Key of the St. Charles Salvation Army. "When you give to The Salvation Army, 86 cents of every dollar goes back to the Saint Charles Community.
