Roanoke Dazzle News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C., February 24 – The Roanoke Dazzle of the NBA's National Basketball Development League has reacquired forward James Thomas, and the league's leading rebounder will join the team in time to play at Huntsville on Friday.

Thomas was signed earlier this week to a 10-day contract by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was waived to open a roster spot for Jiri Welsch, whom the Cavaliers obtained in a trade with the Celtics today.

Thomas has played in and started 22 games for the Dazzle, averaging 13.1 points and an NBDL-best 12.5 rebounds. He is the only player in the D-League averaging a double-double. With the return of the rookie from Texas ('04), the Roanoke roster is back to the maximum of 10.
