NBDL daily developments
Published on February 24, 2005 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
CARROLL THE CAT: The Charlotte Bobcats signed Roanoke guard Matt Carroll on Wednesday, making him the seventh GATORADE Call-Up this season and the second this week. Overall, there have been 46 GATORADE Call-ups since the NBDL began play in November 2001.
NBDL QUOTE OF THE DAY...from the newest Bobcat, Matt Carroll: "The NBDL was great for me. It was a tough decision for me because guys in my situation have a lot of opportunities to go overseas and make some good money. When they're throwing that at you, it's pretty tempting. My goal was to play in the NBA. I believe this is where I belong and it's where I want to play. The way to get here is to go to the NBDL."

THE PROPHET: The rest of the league is hoping that Wednesday night's performance by Isiah Victor wasn't a prediction of things to come. Following the loss of the NBDL's leading scorer (Matt Carroll) and leading rebounder (James Thomas) to GATORADE Call-Ups this week, Victor took up the slack for both, scoring 40 points and grabbing 15 boards as the Dazzle won its seventh straight game.
THE TAKEOVER: When the New Year dawned the Columbus Riverdragons were 11-1 and four games ahead of Roanoke. Fast forward to today and the Dazzle is atop the league standings, 1½ games ahead of Columbus and winners of 15 of the last 20 games. Over that time, the Dragons are 9-10.
TWIN: Tonight's live episode of "This Week in the NBDL" on NBA TV features news of NBA Commissioner David Stern on possible D-League expansion, as well the latest on GATORADE Call-Ups. The "All-Access" feature is "Practice in the D-League" and there will be interviews with Roanoke head coach Kent Davison, Dazzle forward Isiah Victor and Columbus head coach Jeff Malone.
