Tucson Toros News Release

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros defeated the St. George RoadRunners in a 13-1 blowout Saturday night. Tucson will go for their third sweep of the season on Sunday.

James Garcia was dynamic for the Toros, getting the job done both on the mound and at the plate. The righthander earned his fourth win by giving up 1 run in 7 innings of work. He also had an RBI triple, and a stand up double to wrap up his finest outing of the season. The triple was the first for a Toros pitcher this year.

St. George scored a run in the 3, but the Toros batted around in the bottom of the 4th inning and put up five runs to pull away 7-1. Tucson continued to score in each frame (five strait) through the 8th inning to add 6 more unanswered runs to take a 13-1 commanding lead.

The Toros had eight players with a multi hit nights. CF Josh Womack was a double short of the cycle, going 4-for-6 with 2 runs scored, 4 RBI with a triple and a solo home run. 1B Cristobal Santana also had an excellent night going 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI in the win.

The Toros and Roadrunners will play the final game of the series Sunday, with a 7:00 p.m. first pitch. The game can be heard live on COOL 1450 AM or video streaming over the Internet at www.tucsontoros.com.
