Jamel Staten of the Minnesota Ripknees Ranked #2 Minor League Basketball Player

Jamel Staten, a Minneapolis native and former Minnesota State University, Mankato all-American, was recently named the second ranked minor league basketball player by ProBasketballNews.com in the PBN Top 20 Minor League Player Rankings by Sam Amico.

Staten, who was an all-star selection for the Minnesota Ripknees of the American Basketball Association (ABA), averages 27.4 points and 8.9 rebounds and has made over 100 three-pointers during the Ripknees' expansion season in the ABA.

The Minnesota Ripknees, the St. Paul Saints of basketball, will play in their final regular season game this Thursday evening against the Quad City River Hawks at 7:05 p.m. at the Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University-St. Paul. The Ripknees/River Hawks clash will be for the central division championship and is Minnesota's final regular season home game.
